Christmas Trifle

Ingredients

2 packets of Chivers Raspberry Jelly tablets

100g of trifle sponge

350ml of whipped cream

100g raspberries

100g strawberries

50g blueberries

Flaked almonds & pomegranate seeds to serve

Preparation

  1. Dissolve the two jelly packets separately following pack instructions.
  2. Chop the sponge into little pieces and mash into the bottom of your trifle bowl.
  3. Pour the jelly, from one packet, on top of the sponge and put in the fridge to set for 24 hours. Then with the other jelly in a separate bowl allow that to set for same time too.
  4. When both bowls are set, remove from fridge.
  5. Taking the jelly with sponge, spread roughly half of the whipped cream on top.
  6. Then mash the second bowl of jelly (without the sponge) so it loosens and is spoonable! Mix in fresh berries. Add this mixture on top of the cream and then add a generously spoon the remaining whipped cream on top.
  7. Place trifle back in the fridge to set for 1.5 hours or until set.
  8. Add whatever toppings you like – we’ve added flaked almonds & pomegranate seeds
